Name Kham Wa Essays - Philosophy Of Religion, Religion,

Name: Kham Wa Subject of my paper: Positive Atheist What has the research I've done for the annotated bibliography revealed to me about the subject? The topic that I chose to do my research was concerning religion and how because of the negative implications that it carries, I consider Atheism as better way to live. It's a lot better benefits. One of them is, more realistic expectations about life and death. I think it's an important realization that there's no afterlife awaiting you. There's only this life. You're only born once and you only live once. That means you better make the most of it. I already knew about Atheism prior to this research; however, because of it, I gained a deeper understanding on what it means to be an atheist. For example, I used to think that agnosticism was the same thing as atheism. But I found out that atheists don't believe that a deity formed or created anything that has come to be, for example humans, the earth, the universe, etc., while agnostics believe that not enough evidence has been discovered to say that God exist or not. If I had to sum up what it is that I think about my topic, what would I say? Atheism really is a negative word. But negative isn't always bad. Some construe the mere questioning of faith or the presentation of alternatives to it as negative atheism, but being guided by reason instead of faith isn't negative. Science shows us the wonders of the world every day. As my topic; "Positive" mean positive thinking, and "Positive Atheism" mean positive thinking without god. What sort of questions has the research brought to my mind? Why? What is atheism really mean? To be able to deeper understand on what it means to be an atheist. What is the benefit to be an atheist? Why is atheism better than theism? What sort of answers have I come up with? Atheism is a philosophical idea that is generally defined as a disbelief, or denial of the existence of God or gods. Atheism is closely related to the idea of agnosticism. Agnosticism holds that the existence of gods can be neither proved nor disproved. Atheists, by contrast, reject the idea of the existence of gods as a philosophically flawed or unnecessary theory. By choosing an atheistic viewpoint, individuals choose the right to develop their own morals and guidelines seen as beneficial to society without being forced to reconcile their moral to spiritual documents or teachings. Atheists are guided by the expected consequences of their own actions. They are committed to the application of reason, science, and experience to better understand the universe and solve problems. Religion have been the ostensible justifications for numerous wars and pollical and social conflicts. Religion also leads to fanaticism and extremism. Many people feel that religious principles are absolute and require strict adherence and passionate enforcement. Why do you care about the subject? I think that theism only teaching unrealistic stories, it's full of hypocrisy, it goes against science, it violates some human freedoms, and it's full of fundamentalists who seek to do harm in the name of their deity. I think Why should we care about the subject? Society is rapidly changing through globalization and the blending of cultural traditions. To achieve the most harmonious path for human development, it is essential that humans are able to openly debate the development of shared principles. Through free-thinking philosophies such as atheism, society could find the most direct path toward cultural advancement. Promoting an theistic approach to law, ethics and education could be a key factor in helping the human culture enter a new era of social integration.
